How to get involved Keep learning about the importance of the world's rain forests. The more we know about the rain forests, the more we can do to help put an end to its reckless destruction. Recycle. Recycling of all usable materials helps to reduce energy consumption, and preserves natural resources. Recycle at home and at work, where the savings can be multiplied by the number of employees who participate. Encourage friends, family and neighbors to recycle. Write letters to Congress, write letters to the editors of your local newspaper urging recycling programs and write to businesses that you frequent, asking that they become more eco-friendly. Support organizations such as the Worldwide Rain Forest Renaissance Project, which not only helps to replant trees in the rain forests, but plays an active role in educating the local citizens of these impoverished Central American nations on ways to reforest and ways to reduce destruction of their precious natural resources. Conserve water and save energy. Set up a carpool for work, for school, etc...
